Tripunithura is the historic seat of the Cochin royal family — home to the Hill Palace Museum (Kerala's largest archaeological museum, 54 acres, 49 traditional buildings) and the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple, which hosts the annual Vrishchikoltsawam festival every November.
